With the large technical dependency of a variety of organizations, the task of host hardening is an important skill for security professionals to have. Host hardening is defined as the task of securing a system, where the attack surface of the system is reduced (Hardening). These tasks can vary from patching the operating system, setting password minimums, and service whitelisting (Kapoor 2016).
